A letter to the children (of my family and friends and community and world):

Dearest Treasures of our Hearts:

Please stop listening to all the adults you know right now who are SCARED - especially Gen X because most of my counterparts - Goddess Love Them - are struggling greatly with hope - and that?

That should not be your burden.

Rather - I would like to invite you - to give you permission, even - to stop listening to the adults that are freaking out about the changes in the world around us, the ways things are drastically morphing into new forms and patterns, and things are surfacing that are so delightful and nonsensical that they literally struggle to wrap their heads around it.

To be fair - it's not a generational thought process - I tend to speak about Gen X because I know A LOTTA THEM and they're pessimistic AF right now as a collective.

There is a breaking within - not everyone is this way of course - that is the flaw in any generalization.  Ha!  The point isn't how old the person is - the point is whether there is any optimism when they speak about the future - faith that this is all actually going to work out just fine.

Because if they're not optimistic about the future, you should choose someone who is instead.  It's a future we will inhabit together, I hope, for an extended period of time.  We have a massive amount of responsibility on our shoulders right now and a lot of folks who are my age are TIRED.

That's okay; they have their reasons.

This isn't about judgement - it's about choices.

You should know that you can choose to listen to people who speak with optimism about our future.  You can choose to surround yourself with people who lift you up when you are present and when you are not physically present - surround yourself with people who truly want you to win - and who also want to win - and by win?  I mean at life in the terms you have defined - your happiness, your heart full of love, your feeling of abundance that comes from connecting in all ways with this experience.

For some that means nothing more than a joyful existence. 

Maybe that's you, just seeking to be happy. That is an excellent and noble goal, you know.

For others that means embodying love in our actions, choices and relationships.

Learning to forgive ourselves and each other is a skill that can take a lifetime to learn.

For all of us, it means something different - and right now the winds of change are blowing HARD - so the seeds you plant?  They may not end up where you planted them - they may end up somewhere totally unexpected and delightful and exciting! That's the best reason I know that we should keep showing up right now AND seeking the highest possible outcomes - the next best step on our soul path, to knowing ourselves and being in relationship with the collective in the ways we desire.

Fear not, our beloved children. 

Your parents want your world to have structure and safety, and they wanted to provide it.  They did it successfully - because you are here. You are ready to explore, adventure, spread your wings… all those metaphors folx throw at you right now.

You can do all of this because they helped you build this inside yourself, and you can take that with you, create that safety in your world because they helped you to know it.  Fear not, children.  Your parents will see one day the beautiful structures you created with their insights and wisdom.  It just takes a while for everyone's stuff to settle and become separate, and then join together in the full picture.  But it does happen.  And it will for you, too.

Then they will see that you were safe all along, because you were loved so completely.

You are so very loved.

The world remains unpredictable - that's the whole story - change is imminent.

Safety, security, stability: they are illusions we provide to give us the feeling we are whole.  But when we seek this feeling inside ourselves?  We actually become whole by re-membering ourselves.

We literally become more whole.  Remembering ourselves.

And we are here for the remembering - and that is so amazing and exciting, and I am so happy to be here with you all for this and I PROMISE I am doing everything in my power to help your parents see the wonder and magic that is this era of existence right now, all of us, what we are doing, here, together.

The seeds we plant?  They will blossom in ways we cannot FATHOM.

This kind of impact is powerful, and power can be intimidating.

But this power?  This power is coming to support us on our journey and to ensure what's next is AWESOME.

So if you hear a bit too much negative end of the world chickens without heads squawking right now - try to give them a snack and a nap, and if you can?  Get them to a sunrise. It will help their spirits.

And you?

Fret not, beloved. 

You are cosmic stardust and light made into matter and what you can become next is truly limitless.

Fear not the story told by those who forgot their magic.

We endeavor to help them all remember - this is not a task I have been assigned alone - I have an army of angels behind me, you see.  This is why I know we will be okay. 

The angels are supporting us, my loves.

Your job is to remember your truth: you are light made into matter, you are cosmic, you are made of stardust.

YOU ALREADY HAVE BEEN ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING - you just have to remember who you are.

Isn't that an amazingly cool job? 

I think so.

Just go be magical.  You know how to do that better than any of us.
