Do you know how the technology for the first Covid-19 vaccine worked?

The real reason it flew through approvals so fast (besides the gov't cooperating and patent owners agreeing to collaborate so the administrative red tape wasn't a nightmare to navigate)? 

It's actually a really cool story - as far as Intellectual Property Patent stories go.

(I have so many good stories about IP, y'all.  Please ask me to tell you my stories about IP).  lol.

Anyway.

I know this story because I worked in biotech at the time, and specifically at a company that did experimental RNA/mRNA/RNAi technologies.

The Moderna CEO knew my company's CEO and the story he relayed was so interesting.

The reason the vaccines were approved so quickly was partially because the technology was working regardless of what it was targeting - it was originally for cancer and they redirected to "the 'Vid". 

A rough translation of how the tech functioned was explained to me like this (in layman's terms):

Summary to get the point of the story - stay with me

DNA makes up the body, RNA is the "programming" that tells it what to do. 

DNA makes the parts, RNA runs it, they work together. 

(This is for an analogy, not a dissertation, don't dissect my science, I am a musician who went to Catholic School. My science isn't PhD.  lol.). 

So the theory was, if we can "program" the RNA to do what we want it to do, we can use the systems of the body (not introducing a foreign substance like we have done until now by introducing a protein/foreign element/foreign body that may result in a reaction because of this introduction of the protein). 

RNA technology is using the body's programming to find the issue and resolve it by itself.  (SO COOL).

We called it a "seek and destroy mission" - the objective with this tech is SO COOL, Y'ALL. Seek and destroy the problem.

Then - since it's all your DNA/RNA?  Once it's destroyed?  Your body metabolizes it and then remembers going forward that's how the programming works.  Sometimes you have to do it twice to get it to stick (hence the double first injections) and also why the updates continue to work now with just one: we're just reprogramming the target slightly each time.

Tweak.

RNA is so cool. 

Moderna's tech was in clinical trials to evaluate INDIVIDUALIZED CANCER TREATMENTS for people.

Have you ever  heard such fantastic news about cancer treatments?
I hope they are having ALL the success on this exploration journey they're on for us right now.

What's that mean for cancer patients?

No more general radiation, scattershot treatments, zap the healthy and the ill cells - nope.

Now? 

Now they target by the sequence ID - the stuff that makes up the DNA - and they target specifically what was wrong with each person.

BEYOND pinpoint precision.

So when we needed a fast solution?

Moderna's scientists said, "Hey. Um. We have a thing we use for cancer.  Can we point our "seek and destroy" tech and zap the Covid instead?"

And they discovered?

YES.

YES YOU CAN.

And THAT'S why it was so fast.

Because it was proven, and working, and out there, and SO FECKING COOL AND NIMBLE AND FLEXIBLE IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED! 

And it helped.  We figured out it.  BAM.

How is that about trusting our path, Jackie?

Oh come on. 

You don't see it?  Lol.

Because scientists got the idea from somewhere - it's all around us! 

The universe is already giving us individual treatments for what ails us - the life experience we are having right now is the prescription targeted precisely for YOUR healing and how folx respond to the treatment - or the knowledge of the treatment - is WILD.

Folks are given their RX.

"Take this and it'll help you heal" and they're like, "sure thanks" and then?

Some hide the meds, and pretend it's fine if anyone asks.

Some ignore the doctor and never go to the appointments.

Some take the meds, get better and never need anything again.

Others keep going back because they won't take their medicine, with our without that spoonful of sugar.

Some spit it back at the nurse(!) and get mad they tried to administer the remedy(!) - and respond as if you are hurting, not healing them. They see the nurse - the messenger - as a problem.

If you've ever been that nurse, you know how that feels. 

Eesh.

But the problem is not us, or the delivery, or even the medicine.

It is the unwillingness to receive the medicine.

The rejection of our own healing is where most are stuck. 

Folx are choosing to STAY in the PAIN - which is EXACTLY NOT THE POINT.

We are SUPPOSED to choose TO HEAL.

It's the reason you have pain - to move you into action - ideally? 

Healing action.

Many of us came from places where our caretakers were disempowered enough that they couldn't muster the ability to take their medicine, and do their own healing, even when they were in charge, capable, and in a place they could have potentially done it.

That can make us feel things.
We should feel these things. 
They may hurt - they may ache - they may bring grief, or anger, or frustration. 

Let it come up so we can release it all.

Let it come up because?

Emotions are the last stop on the processing train - when you feel them?
It's literally to let them go. 

So let them go.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR MEDICINE

Try.

Fail.

Try again.

Fail again.

Practice until you hit YOUR target.

Get out those declarations and look at yourself and say,

"I love you, I forgive you.  Keep going."

Or practice the ancient Hawaiian prayer

Ho'oponopono:

"I am sorry.  Please forgive me. Thank you.  I love you." 

Those four sentences are magical for you, them, all of us.  Say them in any order, it works.

Then?

"Thanks for the education, 'preciate you.  Bye."

We have to release it to heal it.
In order to not become the same unhealed story ourselves.

So many paradoxes everywhere these days, eh?
I know.

Good news?

There is no wrong way to do it!  Yay!

But there is a PAINFUL way

And that is when you postpone healing and sit in pain.

Y'all.

Get yourself outta there stat.

Find something better - now.

Because? 

When you trust in YOUR path, you can relax

All of it sounds very Mary Poppins, really, so I appreciate Julie Andrews showing up today.

This concept is considered almost a fantasy world - which I think is why we shun it.

Because society fears real magic (and I think ease?).

But I don't.

Transformations are AMAZING!  Do you know how many I've had in THIS lifetime???  
(Do you know me?  So many, friends.  SO MANY).  So many good transformations!

I love magic.

I am looking for the magic animals to clean my house and make my life easier.
To serenade me just like they did for Mary Poppins.

I AM HERE FOR THE MAGIC.

Magic is still everything for me.
And now, even as an adult, I see it everywhere, every day, all around me.

Also, I see it because that's what I focus on - that's my intention.

I seek the magic. I look for the magic.

RIGHT NOW.

EVEN IN THE FREE FALL.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!

None of this makes logical sense - so why not believe in Happily Ever After?

At least the time you spend thinking about it will be pleasant and you won't be in perpetual torment.

So many just sit in torment of their own minds (ask me how I know).  

That's so heavy.

Trusting can be hard - but it's easier than carrying the torment.

Trusting our path is such a gift, and it just keeps giving.

The pressure that is relieved when we can believe this is happening for our benefit?

Y'all.

I am free falling in real life in so many ways right now.

Literal, figurative, and relationships - straight up changing.

Stressful, sure.

But also?

I'm sending YOU pep talks - and for me that is everything.
